Ronald D. Myers, 87 of Rock Falls died Tuesday July 11, 2017 at Sterling Pavilion surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on December 9, 1929 in Sterling, the son of Earl and Clara (Buyers) Myers. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He married E. Sue McBeth on March 23, 1957 in Rock Falls. She died October 24, 2016. Ronald was employed as a heavy equipment operator with Local Union 150 for many years. Ronald enjoyed his daily visits with friends at Jesse's Towing and coffee at Hardrees, McDonalds and Parkway. He enjoyed watching wildlife and feeding the squirrel's.

Survivors are two daughters: Jolane Leebold (Shawn Tholen) of East Moline and Ronda (Craig) Seidel of Rock Falls; his son, Duane (Debbie) Myers of Rock Falls; his sisters: Beverly Hecker of MN and Donna Johnson of Sterling; brother-in-law Dick Finnicum of Sterling; sisters in-law, Marlene Finch of Fla. and Pat Manno of Ariz.; 6 grandchildren: Darren (Lisa) Dexter, Justin (Mike) Maenhout, Jessie MacKenzie, Tabitha (Colin) Rolerkite, Hunter Seidel (Mayci Lee) and Tanner Seidel (Ariel Wade); 7 great grandchildren: Tory (Cynthia) Dexter, Stephen Dexter, Kaitlyn Dexter, Shawn Dexter, Serrena Dexter, Ronald MacKenzie and James MacKenzie; 1 great great grandchild, Zane.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his sister Kay Finnicum; 2 grandchildren: Michael Dexter and Ashley Billings.

Visitation will be Friday July 14, 2017 from 10:30 – 11:30 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Avenue in Rock Falls. The funeral will follow at 11:30 AM with the Reverend Dalmus Meeks officiating. Burial will conclude at Oak Knoll Memorial Park.
