Orla Jean Rowland, age 94 of Sterling, died Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling.

Orla was born on October 16, 1923 in Sterling, the daughter of Edwin T. and Mable Mildred (Shontz) Betts. She married Richard Fluck in 1944. He preceded in death in July 27, 1949. She then married Galen Rowland on January 1, 1953 in Sterling. He preceded her in death on July 6, 1971. Orla was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sterling.

She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Lee of Sterling and Gail Walsh of Gulf Breeze, FL; one daughter-in-law, Kristi Fluck of Oldsmar, FL; one sister, Janet Shuman of Silvis, IL; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; one son, Daniel Fluck; one sister, Arlene Book and one brother, Melvin Betts.

Cremation rites have been accorded with the McDonald Funeral Home and Crematory. A private graveside service will be held at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
